Ok, I've been running. Blogging isn't my thing. Running is my thing, so is fixing runners. I've been running consistently since I lost motivation in December. I've even put on 7 runs on the treadmill, which is exactly 4 more training runs than I have ever been on the treadmill for. Ice was the factor on 3 of the runs, 2 were due to sub zero windchills, and 2 were due to lack of time.
I'm up to a 16 mile long run Saturday, followed by 5 today. I would usually take Sunday off, but it was 65 degrees exactly a week after it was 0. It was bound to happen. I ran the 16 w/ a couple Boston quality runners for the first time Sunday, and they tried to drop me starting at mile 14. They didn't. I was on their heels and our last 4 miles were progressively faster: 7:15, 7:15, 6:45, 6:30. They said I'm Boston material. I already knew that. Its confidence. If I didn't think I could make Boston, I wouldn't set that goal.
I've already committed myself to 2 marathon times. Sub 3:10, or 3:30 plus. I'll BQ, or I'll blow up around mile 22. Either way I won't be able to walk the next day. Only a runner would understand...
Now we're talkin!
